Tower of Fantasy launches new server that gives you everything you want for nothing

There are two big rumbles coming from the offices of Perfect World Games, and they are both set to make Tower of Fantasy considerably better. There is a new server with some interesting tweaks to it, and Version 5.5 is set to be released tomorrow.

Somehow, the update is less important of the two, but let’s still take a look. Version 5.5, or Starfall Burst, will come along with the Kailo Night Fever event. The Spectral Tour lets up to 8 players compete in a big game of tag, essentially. Someone will become the Specter, and everyone else tries to catch them. 

The update will also introduce Veronika as a Simulacrum, along with her Volt Weapon Visios. Her kit includes a few flashy AOE attacks, making her perfect for dealing with those pesky groups. These will be available in a banner until December 29th, so you will need to pull for them. Or, do you? Let’s take a look at the new Warp Server.

The biggest draw for Warp is the removal of the gacha system. Instead, Simulacrum and Weapons will be distributed for free, and you can earn all H, Player Outfits, Mi-a's Outfits, Limited Mounts, Accessories, Chat Sets, and Personal Cards through the act of playing, like back in the olden days of gaming. Daily weapon giveaways will begin on day 1, so don’t drag your feet.

Beginner players will be able to get assistance from Veterans thanks to a Global Chat, and friends can use the Trade System to exchange appearance and resource items. Heading to the Crew Base will allow you to meet other players in a new social space before you head out to start working your way through the Season System.

How the Season System works in Tower of Fantasy

This is pretty much what you are expecting. A season will have exclusive rewards to earn, including appearances and titles, with each new season rotating them.

It all sounds good, but obviously, the gacha removal is a big win. Companies need to make money, but gachas have always been a rip-off. I am glad the likes of Blue Protocol: Star Resonance and Duet Night Abyss are showing developers that these games can succeed without them.

 Yes, Blue Protocol has fashion gacha, but we can live with that. Who needs a new hat every five minutes?
