Pokémon GO heads out on the Path to Kalos ahead of Global GO Tour this weekend

The harbinger of doom has come to Pokémon GO, and the apocalypse will surely soon be upon us. I am, of course, referring to the arrival of Mega Dragonite over the weekend, which is perhaps one of the worst-designed Megas we have seen.

And that is saying something.

When Legends: Z-A came out, I feel like the developers at GameFreak and The Pokémon Company said, “You want Megas so bad? We will give you Megas." They then proceeded to design some hideous beasts like Mega Pyroar, Mega Starmie, and, I am sad to say, Mega Lucario Z. But Dragonite might be the worst. The wings on the head are ridiculous, and we can’t address the bead on its tail in polite company.

Am I being too harsh? Probably, I am old and jaded. Be that as it may, arrive Mega Dragonite did, and with access to the Super Max Mega level, no less. Right now they are exclusive to the in-person Tour events; however, this weekend they will be inflicted on the world. Yes, The Pokémon GO Tour: Kalos - Global is fast approaching, and if you have a ticket, you are looking at a special bonus prize.

Thanks to the Road to Kalos event being live now, Tour ticket holders can benefit from Faster Mega Level progress for the whole week. 6 times faster, to be precise, which is insane. This speedy bonus will carry to the Tour weekend and affect Mega Victreebel, Malamar, and Dragonite, to help them on their journey to Super Saiyan Mega Max. Yes, I will be making that joke every time.

The Road to Kalos has another prize in store. Each day this week, you can encounter Raids themed around the first five Pokémon generations. Today, Monday, will be Five-Star Raids with Articuno and company, then tomorrow you can encounter Shadow Lugia and Ho-Oh. And it goes on each day this week. You can also encounter Pikachus in special hats every day, if you are into that.
