Persona 5: The Phantom X launches Version 3.0 with an excellent new recruit

A thief's work is never done, and it is time to dive back into the fray as update Version 3.0 launches in Persona 5: The Phantom X. With it comes Main Story Chapter 3: Unconditional Love Phase 3, as well as some special missions, and a new version of an old friend.

After taking down Katayama’s Shadow, our Phantom Thieves breathed a much-earned sigh of relief. Unfortunately, they have only gone and left the job half done, as the other Palace ruler still remains. And what's worse, the Palace has sealed itself against. Chapter 3 will follow our team as they try to reopen the doors to complete the mission.

To help out, you can hire a new Phantom Thief, and they are a truly intriguing prospect. It is the 5-star Frostgale Kotone, aka the Ice Princess. And it must be said, the style alone is enough reason to pull for her, I reckon.

If you require more reason, then how about her ability to alternate between Wind and Ice attributes at will? Even better, each form has its own skills. Wind lets you buff allies or deal multi-hit attacks, whilst Ice lets you debuff foes, shield friends, and also deal powerful damage. She gets a passive buff depending on the number of allies that share her attribute, which is a little limiting. However, worth it if you have some good Ice or Wind characters.

You can experience a bit of her skillset by engaging with the Mont’s Special Missions stages. Until January 22nd, you can play the Normal missions to fight alongside Frostgale Kotone, as well as unlock Challenge and Limited Time modes. The latter of these you can challenge three times per day, with rewards such as Purple Crystals and Secret Tickets on offer. Stick Frostgale Kotone, Kotone Montagne, or Seiji Shiratori in your team, and you will gain more clear rewards.
