Genshin Impact takes us on a summer vacation to a new permanent map in Version 5.8

The world of Genshin Impact is in peril, your twin is out running riot, and only you can prevent the latest apocalypse, but forget about that because it is time for Summer! Version 5.8, Sunspray Summer Resort, is coming July 30th, and it is time to kick back with a new permanent summer adventure map.

The Easybreaze Holiday Resort will reunite you with old friends such as Bennett, Chasca, Mualani, and Venti in the eponymous Story Event. The resort's mascot, Asha, will bestow you with a suite of new exploration powers, allowing you to temporarily hover in midair or skim across the water.  

Fans seeking rewards can hit up a host of seasonal events, such as Travels Are Fuller With Friends, which sees you guiding Kau Kau and Akami. You could take control of Asha and go on a spray paint rampage, or tackle monsters in Strikers Through the Storm. Complete these to unlock Sunspray Spirit, and trade them for the 4-Star Flame-Formed Insight Claymore, or Bennett’s Adventures in Blazing Hue outfit.

Song of the Welkin Moon will kick off the story of Nod-Krai, starting with the prelude chapter, The Journey Home. Here you will meet the robotics companion Ineffa, and journey across Natlan to dive into her past. You can also recruit her as a 5-Star Electro polearm user, bringing with the new Lunar-Charged Reaction. 

Whenever an Electro-Charged reaction is triggered by a party member, it changes to Lunar-Charged. This summons a Thundercloud that deals continuous Electro DMG to enemies affected by Electro and Hydro. Ineffa themselves can summon a shield in battle, or summon Birgitta to rush foes and deal AoE Electro DMG. You can pick her up in the first part of Version 5.8's event wishes, along with the Citlali rerun. 

Finally, this update introduces a few general improvements. Trail and Talent screens will feature tutorial videos to help you learn how to master them. The in-game clock will now automatically adjust to the correct time for any dependent quests using the Navigate option. Lastly, and very happily, material tracking now shows you which characters can detect local specialities in each region.
