Genshin Impact's upcoming Luna VII livestream teases a return to Sumeru
I'm excited to see the Sumeru gang returning in a main quest!
After the events involving Dottore and other Fatui/ex-Fatui like Columbina, Sandrone, Arlecchino, and even Wanderer, we got some rest from the heavy lore through a spot of filler.
One might argue that version of Luna is more exciting than the previous Archon quests, as the people involved aren't strictly from Nod-Krai. There's Varka, the witches, the Fatui, and, in Luna IV, the Wanderer.
After Dottore was defeated, Wanderer didn't stay in Nod-Krai. Instead, he planned to return to Sumeru to help Nahida. For two versions, it sounded like a passing remark, but now that we have the teaser for Luna VII, it seems like something big will happen in Sumeru.
Sumeru Archon Quest has one of the least satisfying endings
Archon Quests in Genshin Impact don't always end by answering questions. If anything, you just end up with even more of them. However, this doesn't mean that the story always ends abruptly. Fontaine, for example, has a truly satisfying ending with fewer loose ends.In the Sumeru Archon Quest, Nahida gave the Electro and Dendro Gnosis to Dottore. The Electro Gnosis was traded in exchange for Il Dottore's segments. He was told to erase them all, lest Nahida destroy the Gnosis and provoke the Heavenly Principles. Dottore complied, and then he traded information about the fake skies of Teyvat in exchange for Nahida's Dendro Gnosis.
After this, the Sumeru Archon Quest pretty much ended. The Travelers then continue their journey to Fontaine. This was back in Genshin Impact 3.2, so about three years ago.
Now, Travelers will finally return to Sumeru, hopefully closing the Sumeru Archon Quest and tying up all the loose ends.
