A Webbing Journey launches on Android after a remarkably successful demo
Peter Parker be damned, it is all about Silky the Spider now
If you are an arachnophobe, skip this one. It will be purely about your spindly nemeses.
For those still reading, it is time to take out your Android and swing about with style, as A Webbing Journey has launched. And that’s right, I said Android, the Apple users will have to wait a while. How the tables have turned.
Originally released on PC, A Webbing Journey has already proven a hit on mobile even before this release. There were a massive 3.5 million downloads of the mobile demo, which are numbers you would expect from an AAA franchise. Not a cosy little game about a spider. But what is this game?
Well, it is what Insomniac wanted to make before they remembered they had to put that pesky “man” part into their Spider-Man game. A Webbing Journey places you in the many shoes of a common spider named Silky, which is adorable. You are able to do whatever a spider can, from crawling up walls to making your own webs.

The physics engine used allows you the freedom to do quite a fair bit whilst controlling Silky. Your webs can stick from wall to wall for massive sticky structures, or you can use the game's precise web-swinging mechanics to, well, swing around the house. Luckily, I don’t think real spiders have developed that skill.
Silky is a rather helpful little fellow and spends their time helping their humans with their daily tasks. You will be doing the washing, watering plants, baking cookies, and more. Mundane tasks, but don’t forget, you are a tiny spider. You can also just go rogue and smash up a lot of the objects you come across, and then feel bad and web them back together.
There are three levels that you can explore so far, so pop over to Google Play and download A Webbing Journey now.
