Where Winds Meet looks to close the book on Kaifeng as Version 1.2 is inbound

Despite having only launched in November last year (yes I too keep forgetting it is 2026 now), Where Winds Meet is blitzing through the areas. Version 1.2, coming January 9th, is set to deliver the Final Volume of Kaifeng, the game's second area, which feels pretty rapid to me.

The installment will be punctuated by an epic encounter with the Campaign Challenge boss, Supreme Freedom. It promises to be an enjoyable battle, both gameplay-wise and narratively. You can then go get lost in the Mistveil Prison puzzle cave, or visit the Nine Mortal Ways Camp, full of diverse characters, treasures, and the occasional scam artist or ten.

If you want to slow it down a bit, you can take part in the first Jianghu Martial Games. Whilst it sounds like a hardened tournament, it is more a challenge to see who can goof off the hardest. There will be plenty of mini-games to enjoy, such as Towering Masters or Elder Express.

You can compete with your friends too, if you want to add some friendly rivalry to the fun.

Of course, the end of an arc needs to also come with something to keep you hooked in the cold, narrativeless times that follow. Although I presume Where Winds Meet already has the next land all primed and ready to go. Until then, you can throw yourself full force into the debut of the Guild Battle Preseason.

This tournament features six battles that promise to be full of action, and the occasional person getting distracted and falling out of the arena somehow. You will need to work with your comrades to plan and execute your strategies to reach glory.

Every guild will be assigned to a specific Guild Region based on its country of origin to help everything run smoothly, with all matches launching simultaneously according to local time. Mass violence must be strictly organised.
