Where Winds Meet brings the Mirage Boat to mobile later this month
I am not a big fan of AI, but the chat implementation looks pretty neat...
If you had $40,000.00 in your pocket, would you put down a deposit on a house or spend it on an in-game boat? Soon, we will also have to ask ourselves that question, as Everstone Studio and NetEase Games are bringing Where Winds Meet to mobile next month.
I think the boat is probably what most people will know the game for at this point. Especially after someone brought it and used it to host a server party. You will see people say, “It's a fake publicity stunt, it's a dev character."
And yeah, it probably is, but it is an inventive way to generate buzz, you got to admit.
Stepping off this boat meme, Where Winds Meet is a wuxia action game, set during China’s Turbulent Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms era. That's over three times the number of kingdoms that other Chinese-based action game Dynasty Warriors is based on, so you know things get real here.

A feature that the developers are really touting is the NPC system. You interact with characters through an AI chat box, allowing yourself to get more immersed in the story. You can use your own words to befriend NPCs, offer advice, or antagonise and provoke the ones that you really dislike.
Of course, it isn’t just NPCs you will interact with, as you will find thousands of other players milling about. You can team up with them, take on objectives, or bust each other out of prison when someone annoys the AI too much. There seems to be a big focus on making a liveable world, and I really appreciate that.
Speaking of the world, Where Winds Meet sports quite a beautiful world, with the land being a stunning backdrop to your action-packed duels with enemies. Even the most vicious brawl will look like a work of art thanks to the beautiful combat movements. You can also wield dual blades, so 10/10 game.
Where Winds Meet will launch on mobile on December 12th, with pre-registrations available now on the App Store and Google Play.
