I wonder whose idea it was to have the humble umbrella be the teleporting weapon

Since launching at the end of last year, Where Winds Meet has been keeping its player base well fed with a fairly respectable update schedule. We have already had new maps, a ridiculously expensive mount, and a couple of events to take part in.

And, on March 6th, the Hexi expansion will open its doors.

What to expect in Where Winds Meet's Hexi expansion

Hexi will introduce three huge regions during its journey, each with its own stunning landscapes. Watch the trailer; they are beautiful. The Jade Gate is an imposing entryway drawing in a vast desert, Liangzhou is a dreamlike area covered in snow, and Qinchuan is strewn with timeless trials. They will release four weeks apart.

The ethereal style might be down to the storyline. According to the dev team, this expansion will take us back in time to witness the legends of heroes. It will be a narrative that will no doubt be steeped in Chinese lore, and I, for one, am all for that. I adore stories about myths and legends.

Among all this, I think the most exciting aspect is the new martial arts path. Bamboocut-Dust utilizes the Everspring Umbrella and the Unfettered Rope Dart. The umbrella's moveset allows you to chuck it, teleport, do a few moves, and then teleport back. Not since Lies of P has an umbrella held such power.

The rope dart, as you might expect, is a weapon to wildly swing around, cutting people all over the place. It also has the added benefits of debuffing your foes. Overall, this does not appear like it will be a style that outputs much pure power. It is more for control; however, it sounds incredibly fun.

We will now doubt take a closer look at this in a month or so, but we also have a bit of news on the martial arts style coming after this one. Stonesplit - Strength will introduce the Heng Blade. It is perfect for players who like fast-paced fighting styles, allowing you to punish any mistake a foe makes.
