The delightful folk over at Digital Extreme recently held Devstream 193, giving us a glimpse into the exciting future of Warframe. Most important was the information we got about the first major update of the year: The Shadowgrapher. And our newest Warframe, Follie, who genuinely looks incredible. I'm so excited to get them.

Warframe update: the good, the bad, the ugly

There was one other bit of news, I suppose we should mention. Warframe will be available on Nintendo Switch 2 on March 25th, the same day as The Shadowgrapher. Hurray for Nintendo, I don’t particularly care, Warframe is on Android now, and that's the only portable release that matters lately. Moving on!

Onto the good stuff: specifically, the 64th Warframe, Follie. Her skillset sounds amazing. Particularly the one where you attached balloons to foes and suspended them helplessly in the air. You can also summon an inky doppelganger to absorb damage or summon drawings from your Sketchbook. Follie is all about the ink; splash foes with it to inflict the new Inkblot debuff that slows foes.

As fun as these moves are, they won’t be such a laugh during Follie’s Hunt. This is Warframe sinking to the 4v1 asymmetric mode level. Four players will be stalked by this menace as they strive to complete canvases around the map, with Follie getting more aggressive and gaining power-ups with each one done. Bendy and the Ink Machine showed us inky enemies aren’t to be underestimated, so stay alert.

A good way to take this one on would be in a Clan, and wouldn’t you know, these have had an upgrade. These include Clan and Friend-specific UI markers, bonus resource rewards when completing missions together, and Clan-only matchmaking. You can also take on other players during Operation: Atramentum from April 2nd to the 23rd. This can yield cosmetics that were from past Operations as well, so an extra reason to join.

Warframe is available from the App Store and Google Play. Still happy to say that.
