Pokémon GO gets into the rhythm next week with the Oricorio Catch Mastery event
If this were what Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds was like, I don’t think people would have minded
We are in for one rhythmic weekend next week, as Oricorio will be popping up all over the place on February 7th. I have never considered them a particularly powerful or useful Pokémon, except in Pokémon TCG Pocket, but no one can deny that they are all very elegant and charming birds.
I say all, because there are in fact four variations of Oricorio, as I am sure most people know. I am apparently not most people; two of them do not look familiar to me at all. My badges will soon be confiscated by Officer Jenny, but until that time, let me break the bad news of this event.
You are going to need a Pokémon that knows Fly to acth all four variants, as they are region locked. Europe, the Middle East, and Africa will receive the Baile Style Oricorio, while the Americas are stuck with Pom-Pom Style Oricorio, the worst of the four. Pau-Style Oricorio will be chilling on African, Asian, Pacific, and Caribbean islands, and finally, Sensu Style Oricorio will grace the Asia-Pacific region.

The event will take place between 10:00 and 20:00 on February 7th, and is worth checking out, even if you dislike Oricorio. Everyone will benefit from 2x XP for catching Pokémon with Nice Throws or higher, and will receive more Candy for the same. Plus that extra candy for sending them all the shredder, I mean Professor.
Throughout the event, you can complete Time Research to result in more encounters with Oricorio. Of course, they will still be form-locked to your region. Plus, you will receive other rewards such as XP and Stardust, the usual. Finally, it will be a menagerie on the 7th, as Hoothoot and Starly will appear more often in the wild. They left off Pidgey, though, the original, and best, bird.
Pokémon Go is available to download from the App Store and Google Play.
