Pokémon GO is getting the drinks in upcoming Halloween event

It is the month of spooky, scary skeletons sending shivers down our spines, which can only mean one thing: seasonal updates! Halloween events are always my favourite, and Pokémon GO is getting into the swing of things with the scariest Pokémon of all: the debut of Poltchageist and Sinistcha.

We Brits are also being represented this month, as Shiny Sinistea is making its GO debut. You can encounter this sentient strung-out tea bag in one-star raids alongside Galarian Yamask and Poltchageist. Slightly less spooky is Alolan Marowak, Hisuian Typhlosion, and Hisuian Samurott in three-star raids.

All the fun kicks off between October 21st and 27th, with three tiers of bonuses depending on how far you take the GO Pass: Halloween 2025. At Tier 3, you will be enjoying the likes of 2 times Candy for transferring Pokémon, and a higher chance to get Candy XL if you are over level 31.

Out in the wild, you can encounter event-themed Pokémon like Zorua, Hisuian Zorua, Greavard, and Sinistea. I am deeply upset that there is no Eevee in a Witch Hat. My sadness is deepened by the fact that the Event-themed Field Research can grant Mega Energy for Gengar, Houndoom, Sableye, Banette, and Absol, but not Lucario. 

Complete these research tasks, and you might get a visit from the likes of Litwick, Phantump, Zorua, and more, and perhaps even a Spiritomb. Or you can head to the shop and look like an absolute muppet by buying the new Polteageist Hat. I had to include the image in this article because even the character in the official art looks like they have had enough of wearing it.

This world of ours has also gotten spookier, as Pokéstops and Gyms will be decorated for the holiday. Spinning these steps and opening Gifts will also net you event-themed stickers. Finally, if you play late at night, you can enjoy a remixed version of that iconic Lavender Town theme. Or simply check it out on YouTube instead.
