Persona 5: The Phantom X is going to the beach in upcoming update

Persona 5: The Phantom X is getting the obligatory anime beach episode out of the way fast with its Summer! Swimsuits! Sea Time! Part One event. Launching on October 8th, there will be a summer-themed Thief to collect, a special story to enjoy, and more types of explosions than you would have expected. 

Let’s start with the recruitable character; Tropical Motoha. You can get this 5-star from the Most Wanted Phantom Idol Contract, and she packs a fair punch. She powers up the more HP she recovers, and can deal heavy AOE damage. She can also enter the Summer Hype state, which adds additional effects to her skills.

With your new friend in tow, it is time to tackle the limited event stages. These special battles drop more rewards for certain characters, and I am going to go off a little here, imagine that. I hate this feature. It is just a way to try and make you spend by pulling for these heroes to save the time and, most importantly, the stamina or energy you would spend grinding the same fights.

It always feels a little scummy.

Anyway, at least there is a minigame where you can shoot pirates in the face. Cardboard pirates with a water pistol, yes, but close enough. Vanquish enough of these inanimate foes with your mighty stream, and you will unlock support characters, as well as Rare Seashells, Meta Jewels, and other shiny goodies. 

Finally, some touchy-feely friendship.

Until October 22nd, you can complete side stories with Motoha, Riko, and Lufel, because screw the rest of the team, I suppose. When you finish these stories, you can invite that friend to the Fireworks Festival, where you can use Firework Shells to let off a variety of, you guessed it, Fireworks. Nothing says best friends forever more than wanton explosions.
