The first few days of the year are always a bit of a write-off, but we're getting back up to speed here at 148Apps. And when we're at speed, we like to make sure that you're all up to date with the games you're going to be playing soon. Which is exactly what this list of the top games coming out next week intends to do.

We've checked our records and sent out emails to the right people, and we reckon these four games are the finest that are going to hit the App Store over the next seven days. We might be wrong, but we think we've had our best stab at it - if you disagree though, do let us know in the comments at the bottom of the article.

While you're here, why not have a click through to check out some of the other awesome content we've been making over the past few months. Even if we do say so ourselves, it's all really, really good.

Ragnarok M - Eternal Love

- pre-order for iOS

A huge, gorgeous looking JRPGMMO with a big license behind it, this one's certain to get a lot of users. There are some really neat, mobile-focused ideas here, and a lovely new art style that really pops. You will need to have 2GB on your iPhone or iPad to install it though, so you might want to start thinking about what you're going to delete now.

Lyrical Letters

- pre-order for iOS

This one is a charming mixture of a music game, a puzzler, and a word game. Play songs to match words and earn points. Write songs to share with your friends. Everything is bright and lovely, and this one will tickle the creative bits of your brain as well as the problem solving parts.

DUNKYPUNG

- pre-order for iOS

If there was an award for the best named game every week, this one would bag the prize this time, hands down. It's all about controlling a bouncy ball in a world that may as well be made of spikes. Everything here is trying to kill you. This is the sort of hair-ripping arcade experience that some players are going to absolutely adore.

VMOD

- pre-order for iOS

We round up our picks with a deep and intriguing logic puzzler. It's all about side effects, and figuring out how to change some things without changing others. If you're looking for a game to really stretch your thought places out after a lazy holiday season, then we reckon this is the one you should be looking at.
