Summer is here and is sweeping across the track as KartRider: Drift embraces the times. Season 3, dubbed Catch Me If You Can, turns the resort into a wondering summer paradise and gives access to a host of sunny new tracks in Hawaii, Venice, Miami and even a good old beach run.

This new update has quite a water-based theme for its characters. Mobi and Toto are connected to last season's Lodymani Pirates, as part of the captain's crew. Lena is a skilled dancer, with the love-struck surfer Martin following along in her wake. If you have a spare 20 minutes, learn their backgrounds and nab some exclusive prizes by viewing the S3 Pitstop Video. Season 3 will also be bringing in a new game mode that sounds like it will be pretty fun; Flag Mode. I'm sure we all can guess the content; you capture the flag, and the longer you hold it the more points you collect. Add to these the use of power-ups to keep foes at bay, including the new Mine item, and you have a recipe for some chaotically good times.

Alongside the big addition comes a merry band of quality-of-life updates. Most prominent is the quick-chat function. This will allow users to very easily whip out emotes during races, as well as the community in lobbies, a feature that will no doubt only be used for good with zero sass being thrown around.

As well as this, players can browse the store and take a look at their racing pass progress as they wait for matchmaking, a nice little addition to passing the time. Finally, quick matching will allow players to continue racing in the same lobby without repeating the matchmaking progress, so if you've found yourself a new set of friends you are in luck.

KartRider: Drift is available now from the App Store and Google Play.
