As the song goes, “It’s Christmas time, there's no need to be afraid. Except for all those giant ruddy dragons flying around! It might be the holiday season in Monster Hunter Now, but there's still slaying to be done. Luckily, A Happy Hunting New Year 2026 is here to kit us out.

It is a two-phase event, with Part 1 taking place from the 22nd to the 29th. By completing the eponymous Event Quest, you shall earn a Forging Ticket that allows you to craft the Twin Wreathes. This is a Dual Blade made out of weather, so you can batter your foes with the spirit of Christmas. They have the Paralysis element too, so there will be no escaping the holiday joy.

You will also get the Festive Tree Layered Chest, to dress up as a tree. There is a headpiece in the shape of a star to complete the set at the Exchange Hub, because of course there is. You can finish the festive set by also completing the event’s Global Challenge.

Do so, and you will receive a Christmas jumper, as well as a Bow Forging Ticket to create the Wrapping Bow, a bow made of wrapping paper. I think they should have made a cardboard sword made from a wrapping paper tube instead; way more relatable.

After gearing up and dressing like a tree, I guess, it is time to go hunting. Astalos, Khezu, Fulgur Anjanath, Zinogre, Bishaten, and Tzitzi-Ya-Ku will all appear more regularly during the event lifespan, and you will receive more rewards for vanquishing them.

Even better for the more dedicated monster hunters, Hunt-a-thons and Elder Dragon Interceptions will be held 24 hours a day, and Monster Investigations will make it easier to find riftborne monsters. Just, of course, keep yourself safe during those light night hunts. There be roaming Santa's in them there hills.

Monster Hunter Now is available to download from the App Store and Google Play.
