Niantic and Capcom have released a slew of details on the upcoming season of Monster Hunter Now, and one thought springs to mind. The name. It is Interdimensional Defenders, which sounds much more like a Power Rangers series than a Monster Hunter-related deal.

Just me? Ok, let’s get into it.

Let's start with the biggest additions: the Dragons. Or Wyverns. Riftborne Khezu will debut, bringing with him the dual blades Khezu Daggers and Khezu Skards. You can also face off against the fire-elemental Quematrice and the suitable frosty Goss Harag. Finally, the paralytic Astalos will enter the fields in small numbers, stunning everything in its path.

With this trio of nasties comes a host of skills to equip on your new armour. Simply turn them into a pair of shoes, and you can enjoy the likes of Spare Shot, which gives you a chance to not consume bowgun ammo. Perfectionists perform perfect evades automatically at the expense of your Special Gauge, whereas Morph Attack Boost and Normal/Element Ammo Boost are self-explanatory.

Finally, Advance Ice Attack and Advanced Thunder Attack increase their elemental values when Ice or Thunder Attack Lv5 is active.

From Season 8, the final week of each Wave at exploration bases will end with a Base Defence event. Here, you will defend your home from supercharged reiftcharged monsters that require defeating multiple times to finally put them down. There will be featured defence weapons each time that rotate, and equipping these will net you more points, and points mean prizes, as we know.

The fun will kick off on December 11th, but before that, you can enjoy the Season 8 Climax Event starting December 1st. It's a week-long slayathon with a copious amount of goodies on offer, so download Monster Hunter Now from the App Store and Google Play to get involved.
