Monster Hunter Now unveils its greatest ever weapon for Halloween event
The weapons are the treat.
I have never been more excited for a Monster Hunter Now event for one big reason: look at those amazing weapons in the art. The Halloween 2025 event is upon us, and soon we can all roam the streets with oversized novelty skull weapons with huge grins on their faces. Truly, the best of holidays.
The only downside is that we will all have to become Hunting Horn mains to equip the Skullwhistle. Worth it. The event will also mark the debut of the Brute Tigrex, if big old beasties are more your vibe. It will take place between October 27th and November 2nd, giving you ample time to learn the Horn.
As mentioned many times, the Skullwhistle is this year's exclusive equipment, and it is packing the Paralysis element as well as the Shared Sword Lvl 3 skill. You can complete the spooky ensemble with the Jack-o’-Glove Layered Equipment, but that is a high-difficulty reward. A novel way to commemorate your skills.

There will be a host of Event Quests to tackle, awarding the materials needed to craft the Skullwhistle, Exchange Tokens, Medals, and the events Guild Card background. To upgrade the Hunting Horn, you’ll have to fell large monsters or take on Elder Dragons. Alongside the Brute Tigrex, you can expect to see more regular Tigrex, Espinas, Bishaten, and Bazelgeuse.
If you manage to vanquish enough large monsters and Elder Dragons, you will collect Exchange Tokens. Gather enough, and you can pick up the Jack-o’-Glove and Pumpkin Tickets, which can be used to forge previous Halloween event-exclusive equipment. During this event, upgrading Halloween equipment, old and new, will cost considerably less, so it might be a good time to grind out your spookiest equipment.
Although does anything beat the Skullwhistle? I think not.
