Marvel Snap harkens the end of the world with The Heralds of Galactus Season

If you haven’t seen Fantastic Four: First Steps, then prepare for spoilers, although the article title already gave away the threat, I guess. Moving swiftly on! After releasing a lot of genuinely interesting cards of Marvel's First Family, Marvel Snap has moved to the dark side, letting loose the Heralds of Galactus.

That is a somewhat misleading name, as we also get a Galactus variant, but still. When you draw Galactus First Steps, the next card you play becomes his Herald. At the end of the turn, if you are winning the location the Herald is in, Galactus adds two power to his already massive 12.

We can’t forget the original Herald, though, Silver Surfer First Steps. At the end of the turn, if you are winning the location the Surfer is in with an On Reveal card, you can copy its text. You can make this easier by locking down locations with Stardust from the Seasonal Series 5 Snap Pack. Their ongoing effect means you can only add cards to locations by playing or moving them. 

Say you don’t think 12 power Galactus isn’t big enough, then summon Frankie Raye Nova, whose effect doubles the power of the next 6-cost you play. Guess what Galactus costs? Switching to new locations, The Seventh Cosmos will replace all locations on the field, so I hope you weren’t building any strategies so far. Zenn-La is slightly nicer, adding a 3-Cost card from your deck to it. 

High Voltage is back for some lightning-fast duels between August 21st and 28th. Throw down enough and you can get your hands on Air-Walker, a three-cost that lets you replace him with a four-cost when destroyed. For those seeking specific cards, Featured Sets are being introduced, which offer smaller reward pools based on their gimmick. 

Between August 19th and the 25th, you can find X-Men-themed packs. Or, save up everything until the 28th, because until September 1st, you can buy Destroy packs based around the greatest deck of all: Deadpool. 

Finally, for the collectors out there, the Albums. You can grab a Hope Summers Variant from the InHyuk Lee album coming August 12th, or a Pan Comic Arishem Variant starting August 26th. They will both bring with them shop takeovers featuring pieces in their art style.
