If the release of The Fantastic Four: First Steps cards in Marvel Snap got you aching to dive in, then you are in luck! Second Dinner has announced the Golden Gauntlet World Championship Series, a so-called community-first tournament that will launch on August 9th.

This is set up to be a tournament that people of all skill levels can attend, and even better, it is completely free to enter. Put together your most gimmicky deck and see how far you can go. The good news just keeps rolling, too, as there will be three separate Gold Gauntlet Opens to pick from.

Our first opportunity will be August 09th at 17:00 PST, with a focus on APAC & Western US. Registration opens July 31st, and you need to be quick as there is a player cap of 1,024. Then the day will unfold with six rounds of Swiss, followed by a Top 16 Single-Elimination. Everyone who reaches the last stage will get rewards, and those who finish 5-1 and up will get an invitation to the Golden Gauntlet Worlds.

The other two Opens will take place in September and October, with a focus on the Americas, and EU & Eastern US, respectively. Registration windows aren’t confirmed just yet, so watch the Discord for further information. Speaking of registration, it is genuinely open to all. No rank or collection requirements, you can roll up as level one, and get stomped if you wish.

After all of these Opens have occurred, it is time for the main event; the Golden Gauntlet Worlds. This will kick off on November 8th at 09:00 PST, comprising the 300 players who qualified. The competition will take place across nine rounds of Swiss, followed by a Top 16 playoff. All of the 16 will receive prizes, as well as the prestige of making it this far with a Deadpool-only deck.

Marvel Snap is available to download from the App Store and Google Play, and the tournament will be broadcast on both Twitch and YouTube.
