The Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius will finally be playable in the next Genshin Impact update

If you've played Genshin Impact before, you probably remember how Amber greeted you as you made your way to Mondstadt City. After learning her role as an Outrider, you'd be helping her clear a Hilichurl camp nearby.

Afterward, you finally make your way to Mondstadt City. The two soldiers by the large gate, Katheryne in her booth on the left side, Marjorie on the right side, and a staircase that leads up, will be the first things you see as you enter the area.

Soon enough, you'll meet Jean, the acting Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius. Why "acting Grand Master," you may ask? Well, it's because the actual Grand Master, Varka, is said to be out on an expedition.

The people of Mondstadt have nothing but nice things to say about Varka. From his combat prowess to his gentle heart, Varka is a figure the people can rely on. He's the one who mentored Razor before Lisa took his place, and he's also the one who granted Rosaria redemption, letting her make up for her dark past in her own unique ways.

This was all back when Genshin Impact was newly released. From then on, Varka has gained a lot of fans waiting for his debut. Finally, his appearance was teased alongside the release of Nod-Krai in version 6.0.

Over 5 years later, and we finally have playable Varka

The wait for Varka is by no means short. Genshin was released back on September 28th, 2020, and if version 6.3 is on schedule, patch 6.4 should come on February 25th, 2026.

This means that there's still around one month of waiting left for Varka. Of course, this is also assuming he will be featured on the first phase of the update. There's always a chance that he'd be the second banner in Genshin Impact 6.4.

As a prominent figure in Mondstadt, it's no surprise that Varka is an Anemo character. If he stays true to the lore, he should also wield a Claymore as his weapon of choice.
