321FIT brings Fallout to fitness with a new exercise app
If you want to become as strong as a Deathclaw, this is the app for you
I am sure that my feelings towards fitness are the same as the majority of people out there. I desperately want to be healthy, but my god, it's boring and time-consuming. Between work, sleep, eating healthy, and just unwinding, who has the time to get active?
It is exactly this reason why fitness and gaming apps are important, I believe, and 321FIT is a new example of this.
Something that gamifies fitness and makes it at least semi-fun, that’s what we need. Like what Ring Fit or Pokémon GO did. For 321FIT, the gaming inspiration comes from Fallout, which you can tell from the design or the app. The developer, Matthew Burton, is a self-proclaimed huge fan of Fallout and Pip-Boys, and it is the latter that you can definitely pick up on.
You have seen it before, no doubt. 321FIT is an app that lets you pick your workout or build a plan, and then it will time and track you as you do it. Pretty standard fare. In 321's case, however, you are accompanied by a little pixelated person who does the exercise alongside you. Doesn’t sound like a lot, but it is oddly endearing to watch.

The Fallout-inspired aspect comes from the design. You will be bathed in that iconic green light when you use the app, although the colour is customisable in case any Bethesda bigwigs show up at your gym. You can also grab an armband and strap your phone to your wrist for the full Pipboy effect. However, you're tempting fate if you are using a dumbbell and want to check your phone.
However, the best is yet to come.
321FIT is free to use, and there aren’t even any in-app purchases or sneaky trials. But wait, I feel you cry, then it will be covered in ads. Wrong! It is also ad-free, so you have nothing to lose by downloading 321FIT from the App Store or Google Play.
As an aside, the developer also made a game named Bearplane. It has no relevance, but what a name.
