I choose to believe that the Tiger is the actual new hero in this instance

We are now a week into 2026. Most of us have given up on our New Year's resolutions, some may not have even started them, but life is generally back to normal. Yet the festive events roll on in gaming, with Sword of Justice launching its New Year’s Update for all to enjoy.

If you have played or seen any gameplay of Sword of Justice, then you know it is quite a visually pleasing game. And it is about to get better, thanks to the release of a whole new area for us to gawk at.

You can visit the Celestial Plains and take in the sights of such locations as the Bloomfield of Dandelions or Violetmist Vale. You can then dive deeper, thanks to the Spirit Within exploration mode. Here, you will solve puzzles to unlock the secret of nature in the world. There is also a new friend to make.

Her name is Ruan Ruan, and she comes with a tiger, which is amazing. By taking on the Celestial Adventure storyline, you will learn more about this hero and unlock her unique skill, Pouncing Paws. Sadly, it does not sic the big kitty on enemies. Instead, she just throws firecrackers at people and stuns them.

Pretty funny, though.

For those seeking a casual mode to enjoy, you can team up with Ruan Ruan for a spot of hide-and-seek. It is a bit of fun, plus you can get exclusive rewards. If you prefer action, however, then check out Immortal Strife. This 60-player PvP mode allows you to drive tanks, loot weapons from other schools to use their skills, and claim airdrops to upgrade equipment. Matches last three minutes, making things even more fast-paced and exciting.

If you fancy some more low-key adventuring, then the Sundance Showdown - Inner City and School Trial - Crimson Sands dungeons are also live now, and they are stuffed full of loot. The Frosty Dawn sign-in event is also active, and you can claim rewards by logging in just twice per week. Much nicer than the one a day of regular games.

Sword of Justice is available to download from the App Store and Google Play.
