Play Together drops the family-friendly vibe to have players confront fog monsters with a taser

Play Together tends to stick more to the family-friendly side of things, and what is more casual than a brand-new gun? Ok, yes, it is technically a taser, but I still never thought I would see the day when the denizens of Kaia Island would be packing heat, but today is that day.

It appears the entirety of Kaia Island has been transported to Silent Hill, as a thick fog has blanketed the air. Visibility is zero, citizens begin to go missing, and holy hell, are we sure this is Play Together? We went from raising Minimes to survival horror pretty darn quickly.

A handful of survivors have returned from the fog, revealing that someone or something was beckoning them. You will join a special investigation unit to uncover the source of the fog and rescue those still missing. Although if they were silly enough to listen to a fog monster, perhaps we shouldn’t.

With your trusty taser in hand, you will combat these fog monsters, vanquish them, and collect clues left by missing investigators. These can be found strewn about in Downtown, and collecting enough will reward you with the Outstanding Investigator name tag and the Fog Monster profile. 

As you taze these mysterious beings out of existence, you will also start pocketing some Mysterious Keys. You will need these to take on the new Operation: Infilitrate Danger Zone minigame. So, cue the Kenny Loggins, and let’s get to the bottom of this whole deal.

The minigame offers a variety of rewards to collect, including Gems, Stars, and Card Packs. There is also the Investigation Unit Tactical Uniform, Tactical Helmet, and the Special Investigation Rifle, because Haegin decided to drop the taser pretence. Folks looking to get around Kaia Island in style can also unlock the two-seater KSIA Recon Helicopter, which will make avoiding the foggy beasts a doddle.
