Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links celebrates iconic card games 25th anniversary with fan-favourite giveaways

Following Konami giving away Yugi’s most iconic monster, Dark Magician, last month, Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links is continuing the altruistic streak for the card game's 25th anniversary. All players will be able to collect some of the franchise's most beloved cards.

You can claim a lot of excellent rewards simply by logging in, and we shall start with the obligatory Game Mat and Card Sleeves. Emblazoned with a Yu-Gi-Oh! Card Game 25th Anniversary Campaign design, this will be a nice-looking piece of history celebrating the longevity of the game we all love.

If you are looking for a bit of choice, you will also be able to get one UR Ticket and 1 SR Ticket, both with a Prismatic finish, so you can start to build your deck to distract your foe as they laugh over your shiny Kuriboh, as you sneakily summon those Egyptian gods. You can also get a UR Dream Ticket, with a Normal Foil finish, but still a nice score. You’ll also get a character unlock ticket, and 1000 Gems to spend on whichever box you like.

Now, for the headline acts. You can claim what Konami is touting as two fan-favourite cards; the Dark Magician Girl and Magic Cylinder, because somehow this admittedly very spiffy trap is more loved than the Blue-Eyes White Dragon, but I digress. Magic Cylinder is a very excellent trap, being able to negate an opponent's attack and redirect the damage at your foe's health, which is an ultimate face-drop moment.

Dark Magician Girl doesn’t really need an introduction for those fans of the series, functioning as a strong card on her own merits, but shines in a Dark Magician Deck. There are a host of cards that affect both these monsters, including Sage’s stone which lets you Special Summon Dark Magician is Dark Magician Girl is on the field, which is great synergy with last month's handout.
