Valhalla Survival opens its pre-registrations with a generous gift for doing so

We all know that the best of all the mythologies is Norse. You may disagree, but then you would be wrong. Vikings, Odin, giant wolves, what else do you need? Lionheart Studio clearly agrees as they announce pre-registrations for Valhalla Survival a hack-and-slash set in this fantastic world.

Having built that up, I am mad about the story. It is set after Ragnarok, you know, that massive event that kills pretty much every Norse god? Well, not anymore! Instead, it has created rifts that spew void creatures, with known rotter Loki taking this opportunity to kidnap the Queen of Midgard. Odin rallies Valhalla's finest, and the game is on.

You take the role of one of these heroes called by Odin and have a choice of three classes. A ranged Rogue to pick your foes off from afar, the mystical Sorceress for that bombardment of magical goodness, or the true Viking pick; the Warrior. Brandish your two-handed axe and pull out that berserker rage for the proper Norse experience. The action takes place on a vertical screen, which is not my first choice for a hack-and-slash but sure.

You can rampage your way across 100 stages, stocked full of fearsome monsters and massive bosses. There is a bevvy of dungeons containing a treasure trove of resources to grow your hero to take your place in the lineup of Norse gods. Style yourself after the likes of Thor, and Baldr, or create your own archetype entirely by combining a host of skills and items to your heart's content.
