Turtle Beach brings its acclaimed Atom controller to iOS next month
After a while of being Android exclusives, Turtle Beach has announced the release of its critically acclaimed Atom Controller for iPhones. Launching in a Cobalt Blue facade, you can upgrade your Apple Arcade gameplay from September 11th.
Now, there are of course some restrictions. Turtle Beach lists that it is compatible with iPhone 14, 13, 12 and 11, so any older models would be a risk. On the plus side, however, the adjustable spring-loaded clamps can accommodate phone cases so you won’t need to worry about messing around too much. Its ergonomic design will also keep you gaming in comfort for those long grinding sessions. One of the biggest concerns for any gamer is speed. Any controller lag can be the difference between success and failure, and it is here that the Atom shines. Its low-latency Bluetooth helps to prevent any lag when streaming games and the Turtle Beach proprietary 2.4GHz wireless link connects both modules for seamless play.

There is no reason to make a controller for a mobile and have it be bulky and a pain to carry around, but this is not a concern with the Atom. Both the controllers are independent modules, and when they aren’t in use they can slot together in a rather aesthetically pleasing block for easy carrying.
Being two separate pieces and powered by Bluetooth will of course bring up the concern of battery life, and rightfully so. Each of the controller modules packs a battery capable of 20 hours of life on a single charge. Obviously, this is one of those “up to” numbers you see flashed about, but a full recharge only takes two and a half hours, so you can top it up fairly rapidly.
The Turtle Beach Atom Mobile Game Controller for iPhones is available to pre-order now for $79.99.
