Turtle Beach announces upcoming launch of its newsest Bluetooth controller, the Atom
The headset provider for a lot of people in the early years of gaming, Turtle Beach, has expanded its reach in gaming accessories with the new line of Atom Controllers. These new Bluetooth devices are sure to give players an advantage in gaming.
The Atom Controller is the latest in Turtle Beach controller technology, following the widely acclaimed Recon and REACT-R offering. With each half of the controller being its own separate, unconnected module, it is incredibly compact and easy to carry. The two sides can be magnetically stuck on top of each other to easily become pocket-sized. When it is time to play, the spring-loaded clamps will easily keep phones secure and are able to fit the majority of Android 8.0+ smartphones with no bother. The phone doesn't even need to be removed from its case, so there is still that layer of security if someone drops the controller.
It is safe to say that everyone's main bugbear with Bluetooth controllers is the threat of lag, there is nothing worse when a loss is genuinely due to a bad connection. The two Atom modules use Turtle Beach’s 2.4GHz wire link to keep in touch, and the low-latency Bluetooth makes input lag the least of gamers' worries. Another concern for controllers like these is the battery life, however the Atom sports a 20-hour battery that recharges in around 2 and a half hours, so there should be no reason for the battery to die whilst gaming.
The Atom comes in three styles, with one coming with a bit extra. There is a red, black and teal option alongside a special Xbox version. The colour scheme is Black and Yellow, however, the controller also sports an Xbox Guide button for those Game Pass players. It also comes with one month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for those who want to try it, and more importantly, it costs the same as the other two.
The Turtle Beach Atom Controller will be released on November 14th, with all varieties costing $99.99, available to pre-order on the official website now.
