Fuga: Melodies of Steel releases on mobile with a limited launch discount

It has been a long week, and what better way to celebrate the weekend than a daunting decision about which child soldier to shove into a giant cannon to use as a missile? It will all become clear soon, as Fuga: Melodies of Steel has launched on mobile.

Set in a land of anthropomorphic dogs and cats, the Berman Empire has almost eradicated Petit Mona village. The only survivors are six children, who band together and manage to board the Taranis, a giant tank-like mech. Our heroes then set off to rescue their families, who were taken captive.

Along the journey, you can recruit six additional children, which is excellent cause depending on how you play, you might need them for something a little different. The Taranis is home to the Soul Canon, a weapon capable of obliterating all foes. Unfortunately, it requires the life of one of your party to fire it each time.

It is a mechanic that really makes you try your best during battles to avoid this outcome. And one that makes it all the harder to decide to use. Yes, they are just 1s and 0s, but still, who wants to load any child into a cannon? 

What makes the mobile version even better is that it comes with a host of free content. And what is more appropriate on this journey of harrowing sacrifice and a desperate desire to live than the Swimsuit Costume Pack? I feel like the poignancy of choosing a sacrifice is lessened somewhat if everyone is dressed for the beach.

Although speaking of sacrifice, you do get 1 Dummy Soul for the Soul Canon to fire without a sacrifice; that’s pretty good. You will also get three further costume packs with the Back to School, Way of the Sword, and Fantasy kits, in addition to a set of items. 

Fua: Melodies of Steel is available to purchase on the App Store and Google Play. There is a  20% discount till August 3rd, giving you a few days to purchase it for $19.00.
