There are many reasons to enjoy a good video game collaboration; from seeing your favourite characters in other media to maybe getting a funky new piece of branded kit. One of the best things about collaboration for me however is finding the weirdest ones and trying to connect the dots. I can’t do that with PUBG Mobiles' latest announcement.

PUBG Mobile, a game in which the most travelling you do is walking halfway across a map before someone blows your head off, is teaming up with American Tourister, the travel luggage company. They will be releasing a few new-inspired items under their ROLLIO collection.

The lineup includes a Cabin Spinner and a Backpack, both with I suppose at least vague designs of PUBG Mobile. The most obvious pitfall is that PUBG doesn’t really have much to brand with. It is a strange crossover, probably mostly just showing off how much money American Tourister will throw at a company for some clout.

As well as these physical items, you can also get your hands on some limited-edition in-game items, so at least that is something. Everyone knows that the true endgame of any title is to be fashionable. Something that does genuinely interest me though is the announcement that this partnership will also extend into the eSports world.

We can speculate; the most likely candidate is providing luggage for each of the teams. Or maybe some branding products. I am curious to see what this winds up being. Speaking of curios, the fairly limited markets that the physical merchandise will be released in. Releasing in Q2 of 2025, you can get your hands on some goodies if you live in Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, and Egypt.

PUBG MOBILE is available to download from the App Store and Google Play.
