The Pokemon Company International has announced the introduction of perhaps the most iconic legendary to their MOBA Pokemon Unite to celebrate its second anniversary. The Generation 1 Physic powerhouse, Mewtwo, will be making their way onto the roster, complete with mega evolution.

Despite being introduced in 1996 in the original Japanese Game Boy games, Pocket Monsters Red and Green, and then international in 1998’s Pokemon Red and Blue, Mewtwo has remained a fan favourite to this day, in no small part thanks to its two mega evolution and their timeless ability to remain viable in competitive play. Hopefully, this competitive capability to remain in Unite, as Mewtwo is officially available to play. What’s more, they can Mega Evolve into Mega Mewtwo X, and add a bit of the old pugilism to their playstyle, with the ability to relentlessly attack in quick succession. You can grab the Unite license for Mega Mewtwo X for free through the Crystal Cave Challenge event.

For those who prefer Mewtwo tail to be on their head, Mega Mewtwo Y is scheduled to be available in mid-August, so whether you prefer to be a Physic Fighter or just focus on tormenting your opponents with pure Physic power, you will be all set soon.

It isn’t all about Mewtwo though, as the Panic Parade has also debuted. As a different way to play than the 5-on-5 standard battles, players will instead work together to protect Tinkaton from being attacked by a bunch of panicking Pokemon. There are four event periods for this mode, with the first in session now until August 1st.

Finally, the 17th Battle Pass is available to climb through. Conquer the high seas with the Captain Style skins for Greeden and Zacian, or engage in some piracy yourself thanks to the Captain Set Trainer fashion items.

Pokemon Unite is available to download now from the App Store and Google Play.
