NetEase announces release date for Ace Racer in select territories
It’s almost time to start your engines as NetEase Games has announced the release date for its upcoming mobile driving game Ace Racer. Fans in Japan, North America, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Southeast Asia will be able to take the tracks on March 16th.
Many of you may have already deduced the core concept of this racing game. You pick a car and you race against other players, using what NetEase is describing as precise controls and fast gameplay. All standard fare for now, however, what Ace Racer packs that others don’t is the fairly intriguing skill system. Each of the vehicles you select comes with a unique feature to give you an edge in racing, and we aren’t talking about a simple tactical banana placement. These range from the mundane like an ultra charge skill that gives you a growing boost for a few seconds, to the helpful like deploying an autopilot function with an option to skid for fun, right up to the ability to phase through walls to make your own racetrack. There are a lot of unique and occasionally ridiculous skills to pick up and learn.
Despite how it might sound, the controls for Ace Racers are designed to be fairly simple, with just a handful of buttons so even a track novice can get involved. Each race with be fairly short, averaging 1 minute per round, so you can get your speed fix whenever you have a spare moment.

Solo racing is all well can good, but If you prefer to race with a crew then you can take part in a three vs three battle mode. You will be able to pick between different roles depending on how you want to play, with options such as speeder, supporter, and blocker being available, with the latter of the list sounding like it will be incredibly good fun.
If the thought of disappearing through walls or transforming cars mid-race sounds fun, make sure to sign up for the pre-registration campaign on the Ace Racer website, on the App Store, or on Google Play. You can keep up to date on the release, and reap such rewards as Raffle Tickets, in-game Gift Cards, and Fuel.
