Mad Max meets Postman Sam as Death Stranding Director’s Cut arrives on mobile
It has been a glorious time for gamers lately, with massive console hits like Resident Evil 4 being successfully ported onto mobile to enjoy on the go, and now it is the turn of Hideo Kojima’s first game after his split for long-time employer Konami; Death Stranding Director’s Cut.
Death Stranding is set in the United States, where the eponymous disaster has utterly devastated the earth, leading to the rise of deadly creatures known as BTs. Players step into the shoes of Sam Porter Bridges, played by once zombie hunter extraordinaire Norman Reedus, a porter who transfers life-saving packages across this inhospitable world.
This fancy Director’s Cut comes complete with the full base game, as well as some additional shiny new materials. You can enjoy some additional stealth missions, an expanded story, extra delivery assists, some new combat abilities, fresh new cosmetic items and more.
Now, if you haven’t played Death Stranding you need precision, otherwise, you’ll be throwing boxes left, right, and centre, and your clients may as well have used Evri. To help, Kojima Productions has called in one of mobile gamers' premiere controller creators, with Backbone Labs announcing the release of the Backbone One Death Stranding Stranding edition.
This continuation of mobile gaming excellence does come with one pretty big caveat though, as it is only available on the iPhone 15 Pro, or any iPad that sports a M1 chip or later. On the flip side, it is under the Univeral Purchase initiative so it will be available on any of your Apple products with one purchase, and there is cross-progression for that extra ease.
Death Stranding Director’s Cut is available to purchase now from the App Store for $39.99, however, pick it up before February 20th and you can enjoy a huge 50% discount, down to a much more wallet-friendly $19.99.
