If you are anything like me you are impatiently waiting for Warframe: 1999 whilst simultaneously cursing the fact Excalibur Prime is permanently Vault locked. To keep us fed during our wait, Digital Extremes hosted a Double Devstream to dish out a few new bites of information for Warframe.

The Devstream also covered some Soulframe news, but as it's not coming to mobile yet, let's skip that. It looks good though, so check it out separately. Also importantly, DE paid tribute to the late Mike ‘Mynki’ Brennan, Warframes’ first Art Director, whose influence on the franchise and indeed the company as a whole cannot be overstated. In lighter news, Digital Extremes is teaming up with Community artist Karu to release a Warframe: 1999 prequel webcomic in November. This will cover the founding of The Hex Syndicate, the central group of the update. You will also be able to enjoy Caliber Chicks, a 90s-era run-and-gun side-scroller arcade game in the Höllvanian mall area, developed with Sumo Digital.

We also found out more about the Technocyte Coda, the Infested version of the in-game boyband On-lyne. Although it must be said, for a fake group, Party of Your Lifetime is a fantastic song. Each of these bosses comes with their own special combat style; with Zeke’s coiling tentacle whips and DJ RoM’s illusionary tecnomany being just two examples. Beat when, and you can earn tokens to unlock one of 13 Infested weapons, and also some cosmetics.

Those who main Xaku, the rather fascinating Warframe composed of parts from three long-forgotten Warframes, are in for some exciting times, as their Prime variant lands November 13th. It will also bring the customary two prime weapons, Syandana, and a Operator suit. Finally, Trinity and Nyx will benefit from some light tuning ahead of their appearances as Protoframes.

Warframe is available to download from the App Store.
