MySims and MySims Kingdom heads to the Apple Arcade for some creative fun

EA has given us all a blast from the past, releasing those old favourites, MySims and MySims Kingdom, onto Apple Arcade. Unfortunately, of course, Android players can’t enjoy this new offering, but if you are an Apple wielder, then you can experience these classic titles right now.

The first MySims was released back in 2007 on the DS and Wii, as a more basic version of The Sims, I would say. The graphics are a lot more cartoonish, and the requirement to sleep and eat, and the like, were scrapped. You simply make a character, befriend NPCs, and build up and decorate your town.

Maxing out friendship with people unlocked more blueprints for buildings or outfits for yourself. As your town grows, you will attract new residents, such as the much-loved Chef Gino, or DJ Candy. It's a fun game, but it was definitely improved upon by its successor.

MySims Kingdom puts a slightly medieval spin on proceedings, which, if you played The Sims Medieval, you know, makes everything so much better. King Roland oversees a ramshackle kingdom and has tasked you with getting everything up and running. He has far too much important sitting to do to fix it himself.

Your job will be to collect the magical essence of Mana to create items, furniture, and houses to make your island the envy of all. You can find Scrolls to unlock more recipes, but the building is not the best bit. When you increase the island enough, you will unlock awesome animals like Bobaboo, a Triceratops. This alone makes Kingdom better than the original.

Both of these as fully touch-screen compatible, so you can enjoy MySims and MySims Kingdom in full comfort. All you need is an Apple device, and to subscribe to Apple Arcade for $6.99 per month.
