If you want to play a shooter, you are drowned in options. Call of Duty, Free Fire, PUBG. Fortnite, if you have no taste. But they go for action over anything else. What if you want to have a bit more historical accuracy? Well, then maybe you should check out Medal Hunter, if you can, anyway.

Medal Hunter puts you in the shoes of a soldier in combat environments from different historical periods. The likes of architecture, weapons, and surroundings are all inspired by real-world buildings and military references. Perfect if you are a history buff with an itchy trigger finger.

This does come with a caveat, however, as all good things in life do. Whilst Medal Hunter is to be more historically accurate than other shooters, developers Ten Square Games have made some adjustments. It is a mobile game, so there is fast-paced action gameplay. You won’t need to learn about the Coriolis effect; let’s just say that.

This is perfect, because you will be too busy shooting anything that moves to care about bullet drop. Medal Hunter launches with five playable locations, stuffed full of two types of moving targets: aircraft and naval. You will be competing in a PvP showdown to prove who's the fastest draw in the west.

You might need to wait a month or so

Having said that, there are only a few places you can play Medal Hunter right now. Ten Square is releasing the game with a phased rollout approach, so they can monitor any issues and fine-tune it. I respect this method. So far, Medal Hunter is out in Mexico, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Poland.

Around mid-May, Ten Square is aiming to put out a soft-launch version of Medal Hunter in Australia, Germany, the UK, and the US. Then, a Global launch will follow at the end of the month or the beginning of June. Keep an eye out on the App Store and Google Play for a drop in your region.
