Honkai: Star Rail drops a surprising Himeko SP drip marketing

Honkai: Star Rail has been going wild with their SP releases lately. I don't know if it's laziness on the developers' part, but I'm unfortunately a part of the problem, as these SP excite me.

One thing I don't like is how underwhelming the SP looks in terms of design. Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae was majestic, but Permansor Terrae was too similar to DHIL. Similarly, Silver Wolf SP, Blade SP, and now Himeko SP all look really similar to their normal form.

However, considering Silver Wolf LV.999 has a banger animation, I have high hopes for the other SP forms. Hopefully, the developer will put a ton of thought into them so that they feel distinct from their original forms.

Himeko • Nova is our first Himeko SP in Honkai: Star Rail

Rant aside, let's talk about Himeko SP, called Himeko • Nova. Yeah, unfortunately, the ugly circle in the middle is back again. I'd hoped we were past this!

Himeko Nova, surprisingly, will follow the exact same attributes as her original form, which makes her another Fire-Erudition character. In terms of her design, she looks pretty similar to her normal form, but there are small details to appreciate. Like the Trailblazer flag, star tiara, and, most importantly, a cool mecha in the background.

Yeah, if you didn't see the mecha, it's because you've seen the global drip marketing. In the CN version, you can see the full splash art to truly appreciate her upcoming SP.

Some players also note that this splash art aligns nicely with the Honkai: Star Rail logo, with the crescent-like curves in the background. Lore-wise, this makes sense, since Himeko is the navigator of the Astral Express, so she's one of the most notable figures in the current Trailblazer's journey.

If you're excited for the new Himeko, you unfortunately have to wait a bit. Although she was teased before the HSR 4.3 livestream, she likely won't be a part of the upcoming version. Instead, you must wait until version 4.4 to get her. So save up those Stellar Jades, and stay strong against the temptation of Blade Mortenax for now.
