Honkai: Star Rail 3rd anniversary will include a ton of additions, like a free 5-star and more characters for the 50/50 pool

Time flies so quickly, as Honkai: Star Rail will soon celebrate its 3rd anniversary. Of course, like all game anniversaries, the pressure is high. Celebration with little rewards will be met with players' complaints, while celebrating too hard will create expectations for the upcoming year's anniversaries.

I'd say Honkai: Star Rail 3rd anniversary hits the sweet spot in the middle.

First, you can expect 20 pulls by checking in for seven days, and an extra 1600 Stellar Jades sent directly to your mail, which you can convert for an extra 10 pulls.

Next, you'll get one Golden Companion Spirit, which you can exchange for a 5-star character that's available in the store. Right now, you can get these characters from the item store:

• Topaz & Numby
• Ruan Mei
• Luocha
• Himeko
• Clara
• Bronya
• Welt
• Gepard
• Yanqing
• Bailu

In version 4.2, Robin and Huohuo will be added to the list. The two are still relevant in the meta, so this is a great addition. If you don't want anyone in the store, you can even save your item and wait until they add new units, since HoYoverse seems to plan on doing so.

If you're always losing your 50/50, you can now get slightly more useful characters like Yunli, Argenti, and Silver Wolf, as the three are now a part of the banner's Celestial Invitation. Just don't forget to change your character pools before pulling.

Other events in the 3rd anniversary include a top-up event, a top-up bonus reset, an anniversary mini-game, a triple item drop rate event, an anniversary web event (from which you can get a Silver Wolf-themed car, if you use your entire life's luck), a social media event, and a real-life event.

Honkai: Star Rail 4.2 will add a long-requested feature

After all this, though, my sole hype lies in the upcoming Relic Preset Storage feature. Three years later, HSR finally allows us to have a Relic preset, something even Genshin Impact doesn't have yet.

It's better late than never, though, and I hope Genshin will follow in its footsteps too. Cause wow, Genshin could never!

Honkai: Star Rail 4.2 will be live on April 21st (US time zone) or April 22nd (Europe and later time zones).
