Fortnite teases a surprise collab with Honkai: Star Rail
Fans knew immediately.
Fortnite is known to have a ton of collabs with different IPs, be it games, artists, movies, and so much more. However, not the same can be said with Honkai: Star Rail, as it has only had one collab so far.
In a recent tweet, Epic Games Store posted a picture of two swords, with the caption: "Who's trailblazing their way to Fortnite?"
This quickly gained traction as Honkai: Star Rail fans recognize the two weapons as Blade's sword and Kafka's katana, meaning that these two HSR characters will likely make an appearance in Fortnite soon. The caption, which mentioned "trailblazing," may also hinted at one of the Trailblazers, likely the main character, crossing over with both Blade and Kafka.

Blade's sword, the Shard Sword, has a long history in the lore of Honkai: Star Rail. It was forged by Yingxing, who gifted it to Jingliu. Jingliu used the blade for countless fights and victories, only to one day slay Yingxing himself.
However, at this point, Yingxing was no longer a mortal. He took up the weapon he forged for his once-best friend, and assumed the identity of Blade. That day, the Shard Sword returned to its maker.

As for Kafka, she's better known with her pistols, so many people thought the Fortnite teaser showed Acheron's weapon. However, Acheron's odachi is longer in length compared to Kafka's Katana. The color of Kafka's weapon is also slightly pink, compared to Acheron's crimson red. However, the biggest tell is the handle, where Acheron's Naught is primarily black, whereas Kafka's katana is primarily white.
HSR x Fortnite collab is a good sign for Honkai: Star Rail's future plans
With the Fate/stay Night collab that has been ongoing since version 3.4, and the upcoming appearance in Fortnite, it's safe to assume that HoYoverse is open to collab plans for HSR. This is surprising considering HoYo's biggest game, Genshin Impact, has had no substantial collab so far.The furthest Genshin Impact went was with the appearance of Aloy. However, not only was Aloy incredibly underwhelming as a character, but this crossover was also said to be a part of an agreement between HoYoverse and Sony, and not a proper collab. Back then, PlayStation didn't allow cross-save, so Aloy being added to the game was rumored to be the "price" of PlayStation accepting cross-over save for Genshin Impact.
Other than this, Genshin only had real-life collabs, and players only got recipes or gliders as part of the collaboration.
