Evanescia confirmed as Honkai: Star Rail 4.2's second character

While Silver Wolf LV.999 is an SP (special/alternate) character, Evansecia is an expy (exported) character. This means that her character or design was taken from another game. As per HoYo style, Evanescia is an expy from their beloved game, Honkai Impact 3rd.

Evanescia shares similarities with Yae Sakura, and this isn't the first time Yae Sakura has made it into another HoYoverse game. In Genshin Impact, you can see her in the form of Yae Miko, the Guuji of the Grand Narukami Shrine. In fact, the Japanese VA for Evanescia is the same person who voices Yae Sakura in HI3 and Yae Miko in Genshin Impact.

Since Planarcadia was just released a few weeks ago, we don't know much about Evanescia's background and story, but we do know her element and path now.

Evanescia is a Physical-Elation character in Honkai: Star Rail

After the abrupt announcement of Ashveil, who will bear the Path of Hunt, HoYoverse announces two female characters for version 4.2, both of which follow the Path of Elation. This is a start to another concerning female-only Path trend, so I'm counting on Blade SP to break the cycle.

Since we also don't know about Elation MC yet, there's little information about Evanescia's potential team. If she ends up working well with EMC and Yao Guang, she likely will be rather F2P-friendly. Meanwhile, if she synergizes better with Sparxie and Yao Guang, she may end up being a better fit for spenders. One of these possibilities will be Silver Wolf SP, and another will be Evanescia.

With Ashveil coming as the only new character in version 4.1, you have one whole version to save for Evanescia or Silver Wolf SP if you skip the Boothill-lookalike. To better decide if you want Ashveil, you can tune in to the HSR 4.1 livestream, which airs on March 13, 2026.
