Dredge and Unpacking are set to hit Apple Arcade on April 2nd

I do feel a little mean brushing off My Very Hungry Caterpillar, but this is a water pistol vs. rocket launcher situation

Dredge and Unpacking are set to hit Apple Arcade on April 2nd

Over on our sibling site, PocketGamer, we have a good friend who adores the game Dredge. Mostly the Eldritch horror angle, but they enjoy the gameplay too. Their device is an Android, but if you listen closely enough, you can hear the sound of that phone flying through the air and footsteps running to the Apple Store, as Dredge is coming to Apple Arcade.

Dredge is the latest in a line of pretty bloody good additions to the subscription service. Civilization VII joined last month, even with its limitations, and Cult of the Lamb arrived along with PowerWash Simulator in December. One of those is obviously bigger than the other, but I adore PowerWash Simulator.

And that is not even the best bit. Dredge shant be coming into port alone. Its crew will also be made up of My Very Hungry Caterpillar and cozy phenomenon Unpacking. Admittedly, the second one lets that group down a little, no disrespect to the children's book legend, I am sure families will enjoy it. But Dredge and Unpacking are just wonderful.

Dredge and Unpacking are simply phenomenal additions to Apple Arcade

The Apple Arcade version of Dredge will be the full package, shipping with all released DLC. This includes a new biome, additional items, and even a whole other story in The Iron Rig. If you never played the Eldritch fishing simulator, in which Cthulhu can gobble your boat whole, here is the single best way to try it. All DLC, and the perfect game to squeeze in a fishing session when you have a minute.

All this horror fishing can fray the nerves somewhat, so it is a good job Unpacking is here to calm us down. Much like PowerWash Simulator, it is a game you can simply zoned out to and just relax. Unpacking won two BAFTAs for being a narrative game about, as you might have guessed, unpacking boxes and organising. If you have had a hard day, you need this.

Of course, to play all three of these titles when they drop on April 2nd, you need Apple Arcade. For this, you need, of course, an Apple device and the ability to pay $6.99 a month.
