The second phase banner in Honkai Star Rail 3.8 is essential to complete your Break team

Honkai: Star Rail 3.8 will be running for eight weeks, unlike the typical versions that run for six weeks. To fill the time frame, HoYoverse has prepared three phases of banner instead of extending the duration of the usual two phases.

The update starts with the debut of The Dahlia (Constance), a Fire-Nihility character who works great as a support for Break DPS, especially if they have a Fire element.

Uncoincidentally, Firefly's rerun runs alongside Constance's debut. Firefly is a Fire Break DPS, and The Dahlia "fixes" the issues that E0 Firefly has, so you don't have to get Firefly's Eidolon to "fix" her.

Fugue and Lingsha are the best pair for a Break team

Following the return of the Break meta, the second phase of HSR 3.8 also features powerful Break supports: Fugue and Lingsha. Both Fugue and Lingsha are Fire character who synergizes greatly with The Dahlia, and, of course, Firefly.

The Dahlia + Firefly + Fugue + Lingsha would make a mono-Fire team, but thanks to Constance and Firefly's ability to put Fire weakness on the enemies, this is an advantage instead of a downside.

Fugue is a Nihility character who can apply an Exo-Toughness on an enemy. When you deplete an enemy's Toughness in Honkai: Star Rail, the enemy will take Break DMG. However, since breaking Toughness is not an easy feat, especially against bosses, dealing another round of Break DMG may take multiple turns.

Fugue can put an Exo-Toughness debuff, allowing the team to deal Break DMG without giving the enemy the benefit of their actual toughness. This Exo-Toughness is worth 40% of the enemy's Toughness, so it's easier to break too.

Meanwhile, Lingsha is a healer who scales with Break Effect stat and can deal massive damage effortlessly. Lingsha's Ultimate also causes enemies to take more Break DMG, making her the best sustain for a Break team.

So, if you love the Break meta and have characters like Firefly, Rappa, and Boothill, make sure to stock up on Stellar Jades to get both of these powerhouses.

But, of course, if your Jade wallet is empty, you can always stick with the F2P Ruan Mei + Gallagher combo.
