Cryo duo Skirk-Escoffier is the phase 2 banner of Genshin Impact 6.4
Back to normal Frozen team
Genshin Impact 6.4 is taking a small break from Lunar reaction. The version only has Flins as a Lunar-reaction character, while the other four aren't related to the Nod-Krai specialty.
The version begins with the debut of Varka, the long-awaited Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius. While his kit and power are underwhelming, I think the community can agree that HoYoverse nailed his personality. He's as chaotic as one would imagine, and a true testament that Jean would make an excellent Grand Master.
In the second phase of Genshin Impact 6.4, we have a rerun of Skirk and Escoffier. The duo is currently one of the most powerful Cryo pairings.
Skirk and Escoffier brought Cryo back to life
Skirk and Escoffier's team is restricted to Hydro and Cryo, yet their multipliers are boosted to make the team viable for endgame content. They work well even with a lack of elemental reaction.Elemental reactions in Genshin Impact are a big part of the combat, even when it doesn't feel necessary. For example, even if you're playing a Physical DPS, you should still bring Superconduct characters, since the elemental reaction reduces the enemy's Physical RES for a notable amount.
In terms of Cryo, one can argue that it's currently one of the worst reaction elements. With Hydro, it creates Frozen, which can freeze small enemies, but not bosses. With Pyro, Cryo triggers reverse Melt, which greatly multiplies the original damage. Then, with Electro, it creates Superconduct, which is only relevant for the Physical team.
Basically, other than Melt, Cryo has quite underwhelming reactions. It doesn't even react with Dendro, which has its uses, but it's mostly a disadvantage.
Skirk and Escoffier's banners in Genshin Impact Luna V will run until April 7, 2026, so you have three weeks to get them.
