Game of Thrones: Dragonfire pre-registrations open for prospective dragon flyers

Haven't we all wanted to tame our one dragon at some point? I certainly have

Game of Thrones: Dragonfire pre-registrations open for prospective dragon flyers

As we all know, the best part of the Game of Thrones franchise is Tyrion. But the dragons are definitely up there; a common fantasy trope, but so cool. Warner Bros Games and HBO are leaning into this, with Game of Thrones: Dragonfire opening for pre-registrations today.

Before you hope to see Arya Stark or Jon Snow, Dragonfire is based on House of the Dragon, the second TV show based on the series. Having said that, even though that is set 200 years before the original Game of Thrones, I imagine that monetization might bring us some of these favorites anyway.

In Dragonfire, you will take on the mantle of a Valyrian descendant in the world of House of the Dragon. Your role is hatching, raising, and flying dragons. This is perhaps the best job you could have in George R. R. Martin's world; nobody wants to mess with someone riding a dragon.

Unfortunately, the riding part looks like it might be scaled back a little bit. Whilst the announcement assets do show a bit of dragon flying and fire blasting, the bulk of the game looks like it will be a 4X strategy game.

At least you can head to the Dragon Pit to look at your collection of winged destruction.

Warner Bros have done something similar before

If all this sounds familiar, that is because Warner Bros have done something almost exactly like this before, with Game of Thrones Conquest. Minus the dragon flying, I believe, but a Westeros-based strategy game all the same. It will be interesting to see how they do this one differently. Hopefully, it won’t just be a House of the Dragon reskin.

You can pre-register for Game of Thrones: Dragonfire from the App Store, Google Play, and the official website now. Doing so will net you some milestone bonuses upon launch, including gold, banner sigils, and at 10 million, the Dawnseeker dragon.
