Timegating is a common practice in gacha games like Arknights: Endfield, Wuthering Waves, and Genshin Impact. They usually restrict you by placing an energy system, which limits how many resources you can get daily. This way, the developer can ensure you return daily to spend your energy and not be behind on your materials.

While the system makes sense from the developer's point of view, for players, the daily activities can feel grindy at times, especially if you're playing multiple gacha games that ask for pretty much the same thing.

This is why it bothered me when Arknights: Endfield released the Sanity Discount event.

Arknights: Endfield changes the system of the Sanity Discount event

Sanity is Arknights: Endfield's version of energy. There are some questionable designs about this system, like how you must spend something called a "Sanity Usage Permit" to get double rewards. What do you mean I need to use a "Permit" to quickly burn my Sanity?

And of course, it doesn't help that these permits cost a ridiculous amount of money from the store, and don't refresh as other resources do.

Another common practice in a gacha game is that there's always a farming-related event. Typically, the event makes you get double drops from domain challenges, making it easier to collect materials.

However, Arknights: Endfield takes it one step back by introducing the "Sanity Discount" event instead. Yep, you guessed it. Instead of needing, for example, 80 Sanity to claim a reward, you now only have to spend 40 Sanity. This may sound the same as a double reward, until you realize that you're spending double the time to use your energy. Not to mention that you can't use the "Permit" with the event. It's already grindy even before, and Endfield managed to make it grindier.

Thankfully, the developer takes the player's concern into account and altered the "Sanity Discount" event into "Sanity Supply" instead. The supply is sent directly to your mail, and since it's a normal energy item, you can combine it with the Sanity Usage Permit. A small tweak that will immensely reduce the grind you have to do.

Now, let's hope that the dev will soon realize that "Sanity Usage Permit" is a very weird system, and if they insist on keeping it, it should be easier to get and at a much lower price, too!

You can claim your Sanity Supply daily up until March 28, 2026. There will also be another round from April 10 to April 16, 2026.
