5-Star Billy is finally coming to Zenless Zone Zero

When you start playing Zenless Zone Zero, the first group you'll meet is the Cunning Hares. The faction is led by Nicole, while Anby and Billy are the members. The group adds Nekomata as a new member later on in the story.

Apart from Nekomata, though, Nicole, Anby, and Billy are all A-Rank Agents. This means that they're often overlooked since they're always outclassed by S-Rank characters. For example, Nicole is an excellent support for Ether teams, but she can't outperform a top-tier support like Astra Yao. Nicole is at least still relevant in the meta, whereas Anby and Billy are buried down in the tier list.

In version 1.6, HoYoverse made a move that everyone wants to see: an S-Rank Cunning Hares. The release of Soldier 0 - Anby is not only great to bring back the group members, but also to open up the possibilities of other alternate forms.

This proves to be true with the announcement of Starlight - Billy, an S-Rank version of Billy Kid. Starlight - Billy is a reference to Billy's adoration for the Starlight Knight, although we may get a deeper context later in Billy's story.

Starlight - Billy is a Rupture-Physical Agent in Zenless Zone Zero

The original Anby is a Stun-Lightning character, whereas 5-star Anby is an Attack-Lightning Agent. Meanwhile, Billy is an Attack-Physical Agent, while his S-Rank form is Rupture-Physical. It seems like ZZZ is keeping the character's original attribute while changing their role, adapting their potential to the current meta.

Other than 5-star Billy, there's also an intro on Promeia, an Anomaly-Ice Agent from the Krampus faction.

Both Promeia and Starlight - Billy will be a part of the next version, which may be ZZZ 2.8 or 3.0. The update should come around May 5, 2026.
