Zenless Zone Zero 2.8 is the final version before Chapter 3, and will add the epilogue for Chapter 2. This marks the end of Phaethon's journey in Waifei Peninsula's Failume Heights.

The version will introduce two new S-Rank Agents, Promeia and Starlight - Billy. Promeia (Ice-Anomaly) is a judge of the Krampus Compliance Authority, so she's from the same faction as characters like Zhao, Banyue, and Dialyn.

Promeia's banner in ZZZ 2.8 will be accompanied by a rerun of Lucia (Ether-Support). Soukaku and Lucy will also get a rate-up on both Promeia and Lucia's banner.

Phase 1 will last for three weeks as usual, from update time (May 5 or May 6, 2026, depending on your time zone), up until May 27, 2026, server time.

Here's what you can expect from ZZZ 2.8

Miyabi will get a new outfit in version 2.8. It's called Dignified Blossom, and it takes the blue theme off her clothes, replacing it with golden flowers and ginkgo leaves.

As always, you will get 10 Encrypted Master Tapes and 10 Boopon from check-in events. There will also be a double drop event for both character materials and Drive Discs.

Other than that, four events will fill the version:

  • Operation: Save Bootopia: Play as Eous in Bootopia and save Bangboos that are trapped in the park when the area is closed down. Since Ethereals are now roaming the place, Eous will have to battle them directly, so you can have fun destroying enemies with the little Bangboo. You can get an A-Rank Bangboo called Booltergeist and its Bangboo Cores from this event.
  • Ultimate Verdict Trial: The mandatory combat event that exists in every version.
  • "Spirit" Artist's Notebook: Help the "Bane of Evil" keep watch over the city and catch wanted figures.
  • A Look Into Ridu's Legends: Join the Spook Shack in uncovering the truth behind paranormal incidents by speaking to witnesses. Read between the lines and see if you can put the pieces together.

ZZZ 2.8 will also become available on Steam if you're tired of the normal HoYoPlay launcher.
