Uncharted Waters Origin unveils some big changes to its Salvage system

If there is something that we can all agree on, it is that we all love pirates. This could be a great year for us, too, if the Assassin's Creed Black Flag remake rumours are to be believed. Until then, we can tide ourselves over with the latest update to Uncharted Waters Origin.

We are celebrating the New Year a little late here, with the Northern Wind Winter Festival Event hosting the fun until February 10th. Those who clear quests related to Salvage, Combat, Production, and Trade during this time will be rewarded with the Novice Amber Jewel Box. You can open these for Slot Expansions, Special Manuals, and the event-exclusive North Sea Amber.

Head over to the Union Master Exchange Shop with a pocketful of these, and you can exchange them for a variety of items. Growth materials, Grade 26 Build Requests, and Transcendant Tokens are but a sample of the menu. And seeing as we mentioned Salvage before, let's dive into the changes therein.

The activity itself and its rewards have been removed, with the Existing Salvage Regions being wiped and replaced with new and improved areas. It is worth checking out, as you could walk away with the likes of Slot Expansions, Fortifiers, and Enhance Protectant. Even more, every Saturday, a limited Region will open where you can find the Great Treasure chest. Everyone will get an in-game mail on the day, so keep an eye out. 

For more deep-sea adventures, you can check out the newly added Sunken Treasure Company Mission. You will obtain rewards based on the number of Salvage attempts you make during the event period. Do well enough, and you can walk away with an armful of Treasure Chest Keys.

Finally, you might need a few fresh hands to help with all that salvaging, so say hello to the two new S Grade Mates. Arkan Verdad and Rabout enter the fray, with the latter being based at the inn in Bremen. Go raise your Friendship, and you can get yourself a hearty new friend.
