I am absolutely delighted that the Total War series has been gradually coming to mobile. We have had Medieval 2, Rome, and Empire, and soon it's time for the celebrity-sponsored version. I am, of course, talking about Total War: Napoleon, taking players through the life of the famed commander, Napoleon Bonaparte.

We won’t get too much into the history, because the game runs you through a lot of it, but Napoleon was perhaps one of the most prolific military generals and people in history. He led France through a huge range of campaigns during the French Revolution and the Napoleonic Wars, as well as being Emperor of the French for a time before a bit of a falling out with King Louis XVIII.

None of that is really important, though, because Total War: Napoleon puts you in the role of either Napoleon himself or one of his adversaries during the turn of the 19th century. You can follow a campaign that will take you from Corsica, to victories in Italy and Egypt, and then to a pan-European campaign in an effort to bring the continent under French Rule.

Or, you can instead head to the Campaigns of the Coalition if you wish to halt Napoleon's rise, taking control of Great Britain, Austria, Prussia, or Russia. Perhaps you really dislike ABBA and wish to stop the war before the Battle of Waterloo. Speaking of, that is one of the maps available in the secular Napoleon’s Battles, bringing you iconic battlefields from the great man's life.

Also included in this mobile release is The Peninsular Campaign DLC, which takes you into the Peninsular War on the Iberian Peninsula. And I thought the word looked fake before. It features all-new units, agents, and technologies to get to grips with, just in case you couldn’t bear to say goodbye to Napoleon right away.

Total War: Napoleon is coming to Android on December 2nd, with the iOS version available to pre-order now, and will cost you $14.99. Not a bad price, to be fair.
