Sword of Convallaria celebrates its 1st anniversary with massive update
If there is one genre that will never go out of fashion, it is the tactical grid-based RPG. I would still happily play Shining Force 2 on the Sega Mega Drive, and the only reason I didn’t say the original is that the Game Boy Advance port adds content. It is no surprise then that Sword of Convallaria is still going strong after one year, and XD Games is making this anniversary one to remember.
Since launch, players have been enjoying the Kingdom of Iria storyline, shaping destinies and shanking bad guys for over 120 hours. That saga is now reaching a dramatic finale, tying up all the threads and hopefully delivering a satisfying conclusion. Don’t fret, though, as it is also sowing the seeds for what is next in Convallaria’s story.
The fun doesn’t stop after the story, however, as there are two new modes to enjoy. The Pioneering Odyssey is a dual-part challenge that you can complete to unlock Ascension talents. Or, form some exploration squads and strike out in the Expedition mode to earn Origin Gems. You can then spend the shinies on characters and weapons.

Speaking of characters, head over to the summon page, and you will find Inanna of Convallaria. Not only does she offer a lot of healing, but she can also allow a unit to act twice in one turn, whilst also buffing them. Or, check out the guaranteed Legendary banner for a high-powered unit with every 10 pulls. Inanna sounds worth it, though.
Of course, what would an anniversary event be without a landslide of freebies? You can collect up to 20 free summons just for logging in, plus 10 daily pulls until August 7th. That is on top of sign-in events offering rare materials, Secret Fates, and exclusive items. Plus, as a nice treat for those long-time fans, you can enjoy your own Annual Review, showcasing your adventure from the past year.
Sword of Convallaria is available to download from the App Store and Google Play. For tactical fun of a turn-based variety, check out the Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis crossover with Dragon Quest Tact.
